Alfalfa

Alfalfa, known as "the father of all foods", is highly nutritious. Ascophyllum Nodosum (Kelp)

Ascophyllum Nodosum is a brown seaweed closely related to fucus as part of the Kelp group that growths in coastal ocean waters in the North Atlantic region with unique health and nutritional properties for dogs and cats. It offers unique marine-based compounds not found in terrestrial plants. Kelp is the richest single source of trace minerals and is one of the most nutrient-dense food. Its proteins, peptides, amino acids, fatty acids, polysaccharides, vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants work in synergy with each other, and are believed to support and promote the body's own anti-inflammatory process. Artichoke offers high levels of vitamin C, folic acid and magnesium and is a good source of prebiotic fiber.Used as an herb, the artichoke leaves have similar properties as those of milk thistle. Artichoke acts as an antioxidant and is used to promote the flow of bile from the liver and promote digestion and immune system in pets. It promotes nutrient absorption, soothes sensitive abdomen and support a whole range of digestive issues. Artichoke can also help detoxify pets' liver. Blackcurrant

Blackcurrant is a powerful plant offering a high antioxidant activity. As it contains numerous essential vitamins (high in vitamin C, B5 and B6), minerals (iron, manganese, magnesium) and is rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega 6 fatty acid, it is excellent for general health and longevity of pets. Barberry (Berberis Vulgaris)

Barberry is an herb. The fruit of European barberry is used for kidney, urinary tract, and gastrointestinal (GI) tract health, difficult bowel movement, lack of appetite, liver and spleen health; to promote circulation; to promote the immune system; and as a supplemental source of vitamin C. The bark, root, and root bark of European barberry are also used for the health of the GI tract, liver, gallbladder, kidney and urinary tract, respiratory tract, and heart and circulatory system; as a "blood purifier", stiff and sore joints. Boldo

Boldo is a tree that grows in Chile. Its leaves contain numerous phytochemicals. Phytochemicals are antioxidant compounds found naturally in plants that help maintain and promote heath in both humans and pets. With their numerous properties Boldo leaves support gastrointestinal health and a whole range of digestive issues, detoxifies the liver and are used to soothe sensitive stomachs. They are also used to promote urine flow to rid the body of excess fluids, reduce anxiety, promote bile flow, and promotes the body's own bacterial defence systems. Cat's Claw (Uncaria tomentosa) is a Peruvian herb with recognized health benefits for dogs and cats. It is found to possess not only immune promoting properties, but also antioxidant properties and to aid the body’s own anti-inflammatory process (powerful aid to stiff joints). Chlorella

Chlorella, a small fresh water green algae is a nutritional powerhouse for dogs and cats. Cinnamon is a common spice found in a variety of foods, but despite its seemingly ordinary nature, cinnamon has more health benefits for dogs than you may be aware of. Cinnamon actually has antibacterial and astringent properties and is well known for encouraging the body’s own anti-inflammatory process. Comfrey (Symphytum Officinale)

Comfrey is a powerful herb. It has many uses, but its primary benefit is its ability to promote the healing of minor cuts, sore, grazed, itchy, irritated skin and tissue, insect bites and sore ligaments. Comfrey contains allantoin, a chemical that supports healthy skin and promotes new skin cell growth. In addition to the allantoin, the rosmarinic acid and astringent tannins in comfrey give the herb its qualities of promoting the body’s own anti-inflammatory process. Dandelion

Dandelion, a common herb native to Eurasia, is one of the most complete plant foods on earth. It contains protein (double of what spinach provides), vitamins C, K, D, and B-complex, iron, manganese, phosphorus and many other trace minerals and is a rich source of potassium. It has a whole host of useful health properties: supports urine flow, removes toxins from the body, promotes healthy liver and urinary tract, stimulates appetite, encourages healthy digestion, promotes a better intake and storage of nutrients, promotes bile production, soothes stiff and sore joints, and has astringent properties. Due to its multiple actions, Dandelion is generally regarded as a tonic to the body as a whole. It is a good general tonic herb to give to elderly animals. Devil's Claw

Originally from southern Africa and Madagascar, Devil's claw (Harpagophytum) is an herb belonging to the sesame family. Chemically composed of several important plant phytosterols, phenolic acids and antioxidant-rich flavonoids Devil's Claw has been used to help joints and connective tissues and to encourage a healthy digestion (well known as a tonic to digestion) and appetite. As part of maintaining a good digestive tract, it has been known to provide help regarding the gallbladder and pancreas. Studies in animals have shown that Devil's Claw is a good aid to the body’s own anti-inflammatory process and promote the urine flow. Used to help maintain suppleness and ease of movement, it is wonderful for older pets, and can give them a new lease of life.This is a valuable remedy for sore and stiff joints, having a revitalizing effect on the muscles. Flaxseed (Linseed)

Also called linseed oil, flaxseed oil is derived from the seeds of the blue-flowering flax plant, one of the most powerful plant foods. Flaxseed contains all sorts of healthy components and is a rich source of omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids, lignans with antioxidants and fiber. In addition to omega fatty acids, flaxseed oil contains high levels of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) well-known for promoting the body’s own anti-inflammatory process and offering benefits to pets' immune system. Glucosamine (Marine Source)

Glucosamine is a natural substance found in your pet's body, with the highest concentration found in healthy cartilage. The glucosamine in your pet's body produces glycosaminoglycan, which is used to help form and repair body tissues such as cartilage. As your pet ages, the natural production of glucosamine in the body slows. Glucosamine is one of the major building blocks utilized in the body's synthesis of the lubricants and shock absorbing mechanisms necessary to maintain and promote healthy joint performance. It is used to maintain and encourage a healthy liver, bladder and kidneys. Hawthorn (Crataegus Species)

Hawthorn possesses unique antioxidant properties and is a well-known heart and vascular tonic. Hawthorn is often essential for the care of the older dog and recommended to maintain a healthy heart of working dog. It is commonly used as a cardiac tonic, as it promotes blood circulation and encourages the transport of nutrients and oxygen throughout the body. It also works to strengthen appetite and digestion. Hawthorn promotes circulation through the liver and kidneys but without the risk of elevated blood pressure. Hawthorn is also used for joint remedies for pets as it promotes circulation and is great for helping rid the body of toxins which can build up in the joints. Horsetail (Equisetum Arvense)

Extremely high in a substance called silica, horsetails holds chemical components that aid in soothing and rejuvenating the connective tissue of bones, ligaments, skin, claws and fur in pets. Also rich in silic acid and silicates, potassium, aluminium, manganese and bioflanoids, horsetail creates a promoting effect in the cells. Lavender Oil

Lavender oil is probably the most recognized oil used for aromatherapy. It is obtained by distillation from the flower spikes of certain species of lavender. Not only does it smell wonderful with a calming effect, but the benefits are immense, including antibacterial properties and promoting the body’s own anti-inflammatory process. It is especially noted for its calming action: It is an excellent oil to help calm dogs that are fearful, agitated, hyperactive or anxious; flea and tick control: although it doesn't kill fleas and ticks, it can be useful in helping to repel them; skin therapy: It can help to provide some relief when applied to dry, itchy skin. Liquorice (Glycyrrhiza Glabra)

Liquorice has been used for centuries for its health benefits that are derived from the root of the liquorice plant. Liquorice is an effective, fast acting body’s own anti-inflammatory promoter. This is primarily attributable to a chemical called "glycyrrhizin" present in the plant. Liquorice has been used to soothe sore and stiff joints, itchy, irritated and sore skin and support and promote a healthy liver, digestive tract, urinary tract and immune system. As a tonic, liquorice can be used to help tone the body and assist recovery where exhaustion has been a problem. Cats and dogs usually enjoy the taste of liquorice, making this herb perfect for use to mask the taste of less attractive tasting herbs. It may however not be suitable to dogs with heart issues. Marigold (Calendula)

Marigold is an herbaceous plant that promotes the body’s own anti-inflammatory process, encouraging production of white cells and promoting pets' immune system. Externally, marigold flowers are ideal for soothing all skin irritations and minor wounds and minor burns. With its antibacterial properties it is used to cleanse grazed and sore skin. Clinical experience with marigold suggests it can encourage minor wound healing. It has been used to soothe a variety of pet skin irritations and has been seen effective in soothing itchy and sore skin, insect bites, sunburns, minor cuts and bruises in fact anything to do with skin. Meadowsweet

Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) - a member of the rose family. Rich in salicylic acid it is well-known for its ability to aid the body’s own anti-inflammatory process but is astringent throughout the digestive tract. Itis soothing and cooling to the stomach. It also helps to release excess water from the body by promoting urine flow. Commonly used to soothe sore and stiff joints, soothe and calm irritated and sensitive stomach and digestive tract, healthy kidneys and helps firm stools. Milk Thistle (Silybum Marianum)

Milk thistle is one of very few traditionally used herbs that has been widely accepted by conventional science to have significant value for both pets and humans. It is well known as a “liver herb” for both humans and pets. Rich in silymarin, it is one of the most effective herbs for detoxifying and rejuvenating pets' liver. Milk thistle is a powerful antioxidant and has the ability to promote the body’s own anti-inflammatory process. It is useful for maintaining and promoting healthy and effective liver function and encouraging cell regeneration, sore and stiff joints, detoxing and cleansing the skin from toxins and impurities and supporting general health. Montmorillonite

Montmorillonite is a special clay from Montmorillon in France. Calcium Montmorillonite clay has been repeatedly proven to naturally and holistically benefit dogs and cats. It works with the body to cleanse the digestive tract and remove toxins and impurities. It supports and maintains pet body's pH, water balance and intestinal flora. Having then prepared the body for optimum absorption montmorillonite clay offers more than 60 naturally balanced trace mineral elements. Montmorillonite clay has been successfully used to help the body stay healthy and strong. It is often used to help digestion(gas, and loose stools). Nettle

If there is one plant that may assist with most dogs and cats ailments, it is the stinging nettle. Highly nutritious, the prickly plant is often used as a spring tonic. It's a natural cleanse that removes metabolic wastes and is both gentle and promoting on the lymph system, promoting easy excretion through the kidneys and making the body healthier and stronger. The leaves and stems contain active ingredients including formic acid and histamines which may help sore and stiff joints and poor and itchy skin (itching and scratching). Plantain (Plantago Major)

Plantain is a weed commonly found in the wild, high in vitamins C, A and K. But it offers much more than just vitamins! Probiotic Strain Enterococcus Faecium (E1707)

Enterococcus Faecium is a species of bacteria that has been characterized as part of the normal gastrointestinal microbial flora in animals and humans. It is a naturally occurring bacterium that grows in human and animal intestinal contents. Probiotic strain Enterococcus Faecium E1707 is an EU registered strain of probiotic bacteria approved for dogs to restore and stabilize the natural balance of gut bacteria. Rosemary

Rosemary is high in fibre, rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, folic acid, calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus and is full of anti-oxidants. Saccharomyces Cerevisiae

Saccharomyces cerevisiae is a type of yeast that typically grows on hops and is used to make beer. It is a great source of B vitamins, biotin, trace minerals such as zinc, proteins and amino acids. Thanks to its B vitamin complex, it helps support the nervous system, digestive muscles, and keep skin, hair, mouth, eyes, and liver health The amino acids and vitamins can help keep your dog's skin healthy and make its coat shinier. It is also often used to help promote dogs' immune systems which will aid in keeping intestinal hygiene and a coat free of unwanted hitchhikers. St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum) is a bush with yellow flowers that is native to many different regions of the globe and is an efficient natural soother for injuries in dogs. It is a great remedy for minor wounds to the nerves, especially in the toes and nails. Other nerve-rich areas include the face, mouth and tail.
